Privacy Policy
Your data, handled with care.
Addr.cm collects only what is necessary to operate the platform. This policy explains what that means in practice. By accessing or using Addr.cm, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described below.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Addr.cm platform, including operators, organization members, and visitors to public property sites. It covers data collected through the Addr.cm website, hosted property sites, APIs, and any related services. This policy does not govern third-party websites or services linked from Addr.cm.
Information we collect
Account and organization data. When you create an account or join an organization, we collect your name, email address, organization name, and related organizational details. This information is necessary to authenticate you and manage access to the platform.
Content and media. When you publish property sites, we collect and store all content you provide, including text, images, videos, documents, and associated metadata such as geolocation data, addresses, and contact information.
Usage and operational data. We automatically collect information about how you interact with the platform, including page views, feature usage, navigation patterns, error events, performance traces, IP addresses, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, referring URLs, and timestamps. This data is used to operate, maintain, and improve the service.
Billing data. Payment information is collected and processed by our third-party payment processor. We may receive and store limited transaction details such as billing address, last four digits of a payment method, and transaction history, but we do not store full payment credentials on our servers.
Communications. If you contact us for support or otherwise communicate with us, we retain the content of those communications along with associated metadata.
Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from third-party services you connect to your account, such as authentication providers, domain registrars, and analytics services.
How we use your information
We use collected information for the following purposes: (a) to provide, operate, and maintain the platform; (b) to authenticate users and manage organization access; (c) to process transactions and manage billing; (d) to serve published content publicly and index it for search; (e) to monitor, diagnose, and resolve technical issues; (f) to measure reliability, performance, and usage patterns; (g) to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues; (h) to enforce our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy; (i) to communicate with you about the service, including transactional notices, security alerts, and support responses; (j) to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights; and (k) to develop, test, and improve new and existing features.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for behavioral advertising. Operational telemetry is retained for a limited period and is not linked to your identity in aggregate reports.
Information sharing and disclosure
We may share your information in the following circumstances: (a) with service providers and processors who assist in operating the platform, subject to contractual obligations to protect your data; (b) with your organization and its authorized members, as necessary for collaborative use of the platform; (c) to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request; (d) to enforce our Terms of Service, investigate potential violations, or detect and prevent fraud or security issues; (e) to protect the rights, property, or safety of Addr.cm, our users, or the public; (f) in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, in which case your data may be transferred as part of that transaction; and (g) with your consent or at your direction.
Public content published to hosted property sites is, by its nature, publicly accessible and may be crawled, indexed, cached, or archived by search engines and other third parties. We do not control third-party indexing or use of public content.
Cookies and tracking technologies
Addr.cm uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for authentication sessions, security, and service functionality. Public pages may use analytics cookies to measure traffic and usage patterns. Session replay on public surfaces requires explicit consent via the addr_observability_consent=granted cookie and is not activated by default. You may decline optional cookies without loss of core functionality, though some features may be limited.
We may also use pixel tags, local storage, and similar technologies to collect usage information. Third-party analytics providers may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies.
Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain certain data after account closure as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, audit, and record-keeping. Operational telemetry and log data is retained for a limited period and purged automatically.
International data transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in jurisdictions outside your country of residence, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using Addr.cm, you consent to the transfer of your information to such jurisdictions. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this policy regardless of where it is processed.
Data security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You acknowledge and accept this inherent risk.
Children's privacy
Addr.cm is not directed to individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You may also object to or request restriction of certain processing activities. To exercise these rights, contact us through the operator support channel. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and may require verification of your identity before processing your request. We reserve the right to deny requests that are unreasonable, repetitive, or otherwise not required by applicable law.
If you close your account, your personal data is removed from active systems within 30 days, subject to any retention obligations described above. Published content associated with your organization may persist on public sites until separately removed by an authorized organization member.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active operators of material changes in advance. Your continued use of Addr.cm after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
